The beer and onion makes it tasty, and the butter keeps it juicy!
We all know that beer, brats and onion just go together, but butter?!?! ABSOLUTELY!!! I have been using this technique for years, and it is the best way to get flavorful, juicy brats without fail. Boiling your brats prevent them from bursting on the grill, and also make sure they are cooked thoroughly inside before they get too done on the outside.
Grilled Beer Bratwurst
Ingredients
1 lb. package bratwurst
2 cans of your favorite beer (or leftovers your friends left behind)
1 medium onion
¼ cup butter
Directions
Add ingredients to a large saucepan, and bring to a boil.
Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Using tongs, transfer bratwurst links to a pre-heated grill or skillet.
Grill on each side for 5 minutes.
Serve on hot dog buns with your favorite toppings.
